I've been playing dulcimer since I was 14 years old. I was taught by Kat Eggleston, out of Evanston, IL. I recorded my first album when I was 15 with my best friend and musical partner, violinist, Sarah Wilfong, whom I worked with for a long time. After some exposure in the Chicago Irish music scene, I won second and third place in two categories at the Midwest Regional Fleadh (competition) two years in a row (2001 and 2002). I took second in the miscellaneous category with my dulcimer, and third in bodhran. I was involved in several projects over the years, including guest recordings, bands, special events, renaissance faires, historical reeanactments, festivals, concerts etc. In 2010 I moved to MI. due to financial issues. The music aspect of my life slowed down after a while due to lack of venues and a general disinterest in folky, ancient, weird music in this VERY conservative area. From 2013-16 I rediscovered folk metal (realizing it was always my first love) became an avid activist for Atheism and politics, and had my two babies with my fiance, Timothy. My passion to blend dulcimer, folk metal, and send a message through my music with stirring sounds and visuals is the driving force behind "Gunda."
